PADI Boat Diver Course Details
Whether you’ve never made a boat dive or you’ve logged dozens, the PADI Boat Diver Specialty course can benefit almost every diver because different boats in different parts of the world do things differently.
So what’s the fun of diving off boats?
Diving from a boat is fun, especially when you look at ease when maneuvering around on it. It’s fun to know what you’re doing. Diving off of boats gives you the ability to meet new friends and dive sites that usually have better visibility as you get farther from shore.
What do I need to start?
You can start by reading the PADI Boat Diver Manual and watching the Boat Diving video in preparation for meeting with your instructor to schedule the boat dives. Enroll in the course and get your Boat Diver Crew-Pack and start learning.
Boat Specialty = 2 dives (1st dive counts towards your AOW certification).
What will you learn?
The PADI Boat Diver course will expand your knowledge about boats from small inflatables to large liveaboards. You’ll gain experience scuba diving by completing two dives from a boat on your certification dives:
- Boat terminology
- Boat diving procedures and etiquette, including how to enter and exit, and where to stow your gear
- Boating safety, including how to locate safety equipment
- Use surface lines to initiate or conclude your dives
The first dive of this PADI Specialty Diver course may credit as an Adventure Dive toward your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.
May we suggest your next adventure?
Boat diving will be much more enjoyable when you master proper weighting, one of the many skills you will learn in a Peak Performance Buoyancy Course.
