Peak Performance Buoyancy

Peak Performance Buoyancy Course Details

Float effortlessly, drifting over reefs. Be the diver you want to be,  with ultimate buoyancy control, able to hover close to the bottom and  examine underwater organisms without touching them.

Buoyancy skills separate the good divers from the great divers. In  the Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty course, you will learn to how to precisely weight yourself for optimum control, poise and balance. You learn to ascend and descend so effortlessly, it seems like you only think about it and it happens. By mastering streamlining, you move through the water cleanly, efficiently and gracefully. You swim near fragile environments without harm to them or yourself.

What do I need to start?

PADI (Junior) Open Water Divers or higher, who are at least 10 years old, are eligible to take the Peak Performance Buoyancy course. Enroll in the course and get your PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Manual and Peak Performance Buoyancy video. By reading the manual and watching the  video before class, you’ll be ready to get in the water and start  practicing your buoyancy skills when you meet with your Instructor.

Successful completion of 2 peak performance buoyancy dives qualifies you for the PADI P.P.B. Certification. Certification dives are  available on all trips.

What will you learn?

During two scuba dives, you’ll learn how to:

  • Determine the exact weight you need, so you’re not too light or too heavy
  • Trim your weight system and scuba gear so you’re perfectly balanced in the water
  • Streamline to save energy, use air more efficiently and move more smoothly through the water
  • Hover effortlessly in any position – vertical or horizontal

The first dive of this PADI Specialty Diver course may credit as an  Adventure Dive toward your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.
